Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 October 2026 · Applies to dakpariksha.in and the DakPariksha Android app

This Privacy Policy explains what information Jyoro Technologies Private Limited ("we," "us," "our"), the company that builds and operates DakPariksha, collects when you use our website and mobile app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who creates a DakPariksha account, on web or on our Android app.

This policy is written to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the DPDP Rules, 2025. Under this law, DakPariksha acts as a Data Fiduciary and you, our user, are a Data Principal — terms used throughout this policy in that sense.

Note: DakPariksha is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to the Department of Posts, India Post, or the Government of India. We are an independent exam-preparation platform.

01Information we collect

Account information: name, email address, and password (stored as an irreversible hash — we never see or store your plain-text password). Optionally: employee number, current designation, your target promotion exam, division, circle, a short bio, and a profile photo.

Usage data: mock test attempts and scores, which syllabus topics you've marked as covered, study material you've downloaded, and discussion posts or comments you make.

Payment information: if you subscribe to Premium, payment is handled entirely by our payment processors (Razorpay for web, Google Play Billing for Android). We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded — we never receive or store your card, UPI, or bank account details.

Device information (mobile app only): a push-notification token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send you test and material alerts, which you can disable in your device's notification settings at any time.

02How we use your information

We collect and use each category of information only for the specific purpose it was gathered for — we don't rely on one blanket consent to justify unrelated uses. By registering, you consent to the following purposes:

  • Operate your account — authentication, saving your progress, and showing content relevant to your target exam;
  • Process Premium subscriptions and verify payment status;
  • Send account-related emails (verification, password reset) and, if enabled, exam/content notifications;
  • Maintain leaderboards and rank calculations for mock tests you've attempted;
  • Investigate abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Service.

You can withdraw consent for optional uses (such as notifications) at any time from your account settings, without affecting your ability to use the core Platform. We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.

03Who we share information with

We share information only with the service providers necessary to run the Platform:

  • Razorpay — payment processing for web subscriptions;
  • Google Play Billing — payment processing for Android app subscriptions;
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notification delivery on Android;
  • Our email delivery provider — for account verification and password-reset emails;
  • Our hosting provider — where our servers and database run.

These providers only receive what they need to perform their specific function, and are bound by their own privacy and security obligations. We don't share your data with anyone else without your consent, except where required by law.

04Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies: one to keep you signed in, and one for CSRF protection (a security measure that prevents malicious sites from acting on your behalf). We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

05Data retention & deletion

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time from our account deletion page. Some information — such as records required for tax or payment-dispute purposes — may be retained for a limited period after deletion where we're legally required to.

06Security & breach notification

Passwords are hashed, not stored in plain text. All traffic between your browser or app and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS). Like any online service, we can't guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access.

If a personal data breach occurs that's likely to affect you, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected users as required under the DPDP Act, including what happened, what data was involved, and what we're doing about it, through the email address on your account.

07Your rights

As a Data Principal under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you;
  • Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data — most of this you can do directly from your profile page;
  • Erase your personal data, via our account deletion page;
  • Withdraw consent for any purpose you'd previously consented to, at any time, as easily as you gave it;
  • Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity;
  • Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (below) before approaching the Data Protection Board of India.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us through our Contact page or reach our Grievance Officer directly using the details in Section 9.

08Children's privacy

DakPariksha is intended for users aged 18 and older, consistent with our Terms of Service. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we do not permit registration by minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact our Grievance Officer below and we'll remove it.

09Grievance Officer

As required under the DPDP Act, 2023, we've appointed a Grievance Officer as your point of contact for exercising your rights or raising a complaint about how we handle your personal data. We aim to acknowledge grievances promptly and resolve them within the timelines set out under the DPDP Rules, 2025.
